Shari LaLaine Hernan

Shari LaLaine Hernan, 63, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Shari was very well-loved and always the life of the party. She was the most caring and selfless person and never met a stranger. Those who knew her would say that she gave the best hugs, had the brightest smile, and the most contagious laugh. Shari lit up any room she walked into.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Hernan; her son, Matthew Hernan; and her brother, James Herzig Jr.

She leaves behind her daughter, Emileigh Suydam, and son-in-law, Wesley Suydam, as well as their beautiful new daughter, Elliott Suydam; and her parents, James Herzig Sr. and Vicki Herzig. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Shari’s visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, from 11am-1pm, with a Celebration of Life to follow. The services will take place at Vox Dei Community Church, 622 2nd Street, Belton, MO.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Shari’s warmth, laughter, and light will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing her.
