Rose M. Messick, known for her remarkable career and unforgettable generosity, passed away on February 14, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
Born on February 19, 1941, Rose's passion for accounting and finance was ignited while working at Avila College. She dedicated over 46 years of her life to BR, where she served as the Director of Accounting Services and Corporate Secretary. Rose's impact went beyond her professional accomplishments as she mentored numerous employees who flourished under her guidance.
In addition to her corporate success, Rose showcased her entrepreneurial spirit by opening a craft shop that featured handmade items by loved ones. Her keen business sense shone through in all aspects of her life.
Rose's love for family and friends knew no bounds. She delighted in hosting festive gatherings during Christmas and Thanksgiving, where laughter filled the air as games were played and stories were shared. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, often treating them to trips and delicious meals.
A master at poker – a skill she inherited from her father – Rose found joy in friendly card games with loved ones or her luck at casinos across various states. Her adventures in Lake Tahoe, Colorado, Reno, and Vegas were accompanied by thrilling wins that added an extra sparkle to her vibrant personality.
Married to Richard for over five decades, Rose cherished their bond alongside their two children Debbie Clay and Rich Messick. Her legacy lives on through Richard, Debbie, Rich, sister Jurhee Daiprai, brothers Bill Handy, Mike Handy, John Handy, grandchildren Brandon Clay, Wesley Clay, Ryan Clay, and Sydney Messick.
Rose M. Messick will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her boundless kindness, unwavering love for family and friends, and the mark she left on all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
