Robert “Bob” Monroe Simmons, age 89, passed on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.
Bob was born to the late William and Minnie Etta Simmons in McAllen, TX. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Texas and St. Louis, MO for 42 years, served on the city council in Black Jack, MO, and served on many homeowner associations. He was married to Ann Louise Kretz for 69 years. Bob served in the Navy as an Aviation Electrician on the carrier USS Philippine Sea during the Korean War from 1951 – 1955.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, William Steven Simmons and is survived by his wife, Ann Louise, his sons, Robert Simmons and wife Leslie, David Simmons and husband David Taylor, and daughter Rebecca Simmons and partner Brandt Levinson, his brother, William Biggio Simmons, his grandchildren Brent and wife Kolika, Aaron and partner Tim, Ashley Hoskins and husband Rob, great-granddaughter Zoe, who affectionately called him “Big Bob”, and many nieces and nephews.
The family is honoring our father’s request for no service. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the charity of your choice.
