Robert Smith

Robert L Smith, 91, passed away February 21 in his home at Villa Ventura. Bob was
born on March 3rd, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri to Leslie C. Smith and Geneva E. Smith (Burrus). He graduated from Paseo High School in 1941 and remained active with the alumni association through the years. In 1941, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corp ultimately achieving the rank of First Lieutenant. Bob flew combat missions in P-38 and P-47 aircraft in the 367th fighter group. After
the war he attended Kansas City University and graduated with a BA Degree in Geology & Geography. Bob worked for the 3M Company and ultimately retired from the Bucyrus-Erie Company as western regional sales manager in 1984.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Lou Smith (Robison) and brother, Wesley C. Smith. Survivors include his sons, Dr. Steven L. Smith (Linda) and Craig A. Smith (Sally), grandchildren Andrea Smith Amos and Bryan Smith (Lynzie); great-grandchildren Robert "Bert" Amos and Joslyn Smith, his sister-in-law Virginia Smith, 1 niece & 2 nephews. A third great-grandchild is expected in May.
