Robert Lee Johnson, also known as Rob, was born on March 6, 1945, in Kansas City, Missouri. He passed away peacefully on October 1 2024, in his hometown. Rob was known for his infectious laughter and comedic charm.
Rob graduated from Southeast High School, where he likely developed a love for life that carried him through his years. He proudly served his country in the Army, a commitment that reflected his love for his country and strength to defend it. Throughout his life, Rob held many passions close to his heart, including his love for classic rock music, particularly the timeless sounds of Pink Floyd. He found joy in sipping root beer, watching movies, and shared countless moments with his daughter while enjoying episodes of the Golden Girls. His dreams of writing a book showcased his creativity and skill with words that will be missed by his family and those who know him. He passed that skill to his daughter Brittany and he was always to excited and encouraging of her writings, even keeping her writings from middle school and high school. Robert loved learning and tinkering with technology and computer, showing that he had a hunger for knowledge. Using that knowledge he would gain, he enjoyed talking to his son Brandon about new technology and all of the things he learned and was proud of the ability of his son to build a computer. He was proud of his son Brian for being a family man and seeing his love for his family would fill Robert's heart with joy.
Among his proudest accomplishments, Rob nearly joined Major League Baseball, a testament to his love for sports and his impressive talents. He loved going to Royals games with his children and always looked forward to attending the Annual Ethnic festival. He often reminisced about fond memories, including the special moment when he danced with his daughter, Brittany, at a cotillion, a memory that showcased the deep bond they shared.
Rob is remembered by his living family, including his daughter Brittany K. Johnson and his sons Brian K. Johnson and Brandon K. Johnson, along with his sister Janice. He also leaves behind the loving memory of his parents, Amos Johnson and Lilia Harris, and his sister Caroline, who have preceded him in death.
