He is survived by his mother and her husband Larry Deshotels, his brother Logan Johnson, his sister Sarah Watson, his aunts Renee Robinson and Lisa Kilbride, the mother of his children Emily Maschler, and his daughters, Calypso and Indigo.

Richard was a father to two beautiful little girls who adored him. They will forever remember his playful spirit, his love and laughter, his big silly hair, and the joy he brought into their lives.

As a son and a brother, Richard was a source of countless stories and mischief, turning their mom’s hair gray far too soon. The bond they shared was filled with laughter and stories that will be told for generations to come.

To his mother, he was a cherished son, embodying the love and dedication she poured into raising him. Her love for him was unwavering, and he returned that love in every way he could.

Richard was an adventurous soul who loved spending time outdoors, finding comfort in nature. He also had a deep passion for music which he shared with those around him.

Richard was a free spirit with big ideas and a love for life. Though he was taken from us too soon, his impact will resonate in our hearts forever. Let us remember Richard for the light he brought into our lives and the love he shared. We will honor his memory by keeping his spirit alive in our stories and in the love we show one another.
