Richard A. Kennon

Richard Kennon, 78 of Gardner, KS passed away October 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Private memorial will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Richard was born January 11, 1946, the son of Lee and Ester Kennon of Potter, Nebraska. After high school he moved to Rapid City, SD where he lived until 1966. During that time, he went on a visit to Denver Colorado where he met his wife, Bonnie at a stock car race. After they married, he began working for the airline industry where he stayed for 40 years.

Richard and Bonnie raised two children while in Colorado. A son David Kennon of San Diego, California and daughter Christine Kennon Hope of Gardner, KS. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers. He is survived by his wife Bonnie, and their two children, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, along with many extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Meadowbrook Rehab Center in Gardner, KS and Crossroads Hospice for providing compassionate care in his final days.
