Paul F. Janner,70, passed away June 10th, 2023, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born February 20th, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to William J. and Nellie R. (Hudson) Janner. He was a lifelong citizen of Kansas City and graduated from Ruskin High School in 1971 where he played varsity football. He took over his father’s sign business at age 18 after his father’s death, finishing a project at Ruskin High School. He attended UMKC earning a bachelor’s degree in business and communication arts. He was a prolific artist and one of the last original hand lettering painters in Kansas City. His work varied from gold leafing, to creating logos, and painting mascot murals in nearby schools. His work is displayed on the front of the library at Grandview High School. He was a member of the KC Scottish Terrier Club and showed his dogs in the 1970’s and 1980’s. He enjoyed funk and retro music and won first place at the Arthur Murray School of Dance for the West Coast Swing. He was outgoing and would strike up conversations with strangers wherever he went, often making their day. His company was called American Advertising Specialists and he even did work for visiting Presidential campaigns for Ronald Reagan and George Bush Sr. He was a Chief’s fan to the utmost almost holding his breath during the last few minutes of play. You could hear him yelling almost a block away. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers’ Bill Janner and A.J. Roberts, sister Margie Welch, and the love of his life, Debby Arnone. He is survived by his beloved daughter Krystina, (Victor Daniel), his grandson Dakota, whom he adored, who loved riding in his PawPaw’s truck. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne (Donna), sisters’ Linda Smith, Mary Jo Miller(David) and Theresa Carlson (Will). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 13300 Kenneth Rd., Leawood, Kansas 66209. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family to help with expenses is appreciated. Arrangements handled by Assurance Cremation Society.
