Marie Dinsmore

Marie Elizabeth Dinsmore passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on March 23, 2025. Marie was born on January 1, 1931 in Denver, CO to Gale and Caroline Gable. She moved to Kansas with her family as a teenager and graduated from Wamego High School. In 1950, she married Elmer Dinsmore. Together they built a life and family that was the center of her world. Marie had a passion for travel that took her on trips throughout the world. She enjoyed crafting, shopping, the music of Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdink, wine, and the Golden Girls. She was a Chiefs and Royals fan, and loved to keep up with celebrity news. Her love for these simple joys reflected the vibrant personality that made her so beloved by those around her. She had a warm smile and a generous, fun-loving spirit that will be deeply missed.

Marie is survived by her children, Steve Dinsmore and wife Kelli, and Stacie Gorham and husband Donald, her brother Bob Gable, grandchildren Tyler Dinsmore, Carly Sweetser and husband Ethan, Emily McBride, Maci Dinsmore, and Tanner Dinsmore, great grandson Jordy Sweetser, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, brother Roger Gable, in-laws John and Roberta Idoux, Marilyn and Rusty Lewis, and Janice Gable, nephews Bob Gable, George Gable, and Terry Lewis, and granddaughter Molly McBride.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 starting at 1:00pm at Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W. 75th St., Overland Park, KS 66204.
