Linda Gail Roberts, age,78, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at St.Paul’s United Methodist Church, 1111 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, MO 64083
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday ,February 16, 2019 at the church.
Linda was born on May 5,1940 in Abilene,Texas. She was the daughter of Jim Marshall and Vera (Carlson) Marshall. In the fall of 1960, Linda was joined in marriage with her husband, Raymond D. Roberts on October 8th. Linda received her Bachelors, Masters and Specialist degrees from UMKC. She was involved in Education most of her life. She began her professional career as a teacher and retired as Principal from Ervin Jr. High School.
During her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband, lunching with her teacher friends as well as dinners with her beloved children and granddaughter, Alexa. Linda was actively involved with volunteer work. She volunteered at Union Station and Cass Medical Center. Linda recently served as the Cass Medical Center (CMC) Auxiliary President. During her tenure with CMC Auxiliary, the Auxiliary was honored as the 2017 Auxillary of the Year in Category 1 by the Missouri Association of Hospital Auxiliaries. Linda was also a woman of great faith. She attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church for many years and was a member of one of the UMW Circles. Most recently she enjoyed attending St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Vera Marshall. She is survived by her loving husband of over 58 years, Raymond D. Roberts; Children; Christina K. Emery (Chuck) of Tonganoxie, KS., Gregory D. Roberts (fiancé Marcie) of Raymore, MO.,: Granddaughter: Alexandra C. Weller of Bonner Springs, KS., and Great Granddaughter: Ariana Holthaus of Bonner Springs, KS., Sister: Sue Peddy (Vernon) of Irving, TX.,; Nieces: Gina Peddy of Coppell, TX., Pamela McElhaney (Victor) of Decatur,TX, and great nieces and nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church (address above) and Cass Regional Foundation, 2800 E.Rock Haven Road, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
