Leonard S. H. Lipari, 80, passed away May 6, 2022.
Leonard Saverio Henry Lipari was born and raised in Akron, OH. In the Spring of 1964, he met Karen A. Wittman at Babcock & Wilcox. They were joined in marriage on February 27, 1965. Leonard earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Akron in 1969. He worked for Babcock and Wilcox in the utility business for 45 years, starting his family and career in Akron, before transferring to Lenexa, KS in 1979 and later moving to Stanley, KS in 1993. Leonard spent the majority of his career as a Sales Engineer, retiring in 2006. He continued to live in Stanley after retirement. Leonard enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with Karen and going on many long-distance adventures together. He was an excellent chef who loved cooking for family and friends, and loved spending time with his wife, his family, and fourteen-year-old best friend Groucho (Wheaten Terrier). He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, Leon, and Helen. Survivors include his beloved wife, Karen, of 57 years; three sons, Mario of Portland, OR, Santino (Christina) of Stilwell, KS, and Donato (Kristin) of Dillon, CO, and his grandchildren Lauren, Adela, Elsie, Sophia and Vincent. Leonard is also survived by his sister, Cheryl (Ray) Deitch, niece, Melanie Deitch, and sister-in-law Debbie (Doug) Harvey.
A small gathering of family and friends will honor Leonard with a celebration of life. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice & Palliative Care of Lenexa, KS or Aquinas Home Health of Shawnee, KS. Additionally, we will forever be grateful for the support and love the Dialysis Clinic Inc. team gave Leonard over the last two and a half years.
