Jesse Swearingen, 57, passed away September 12, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy; daughter, Sarah Cavanah (Russell) and grandson, Kael . He is also missed by his fur babies, Lucy & Stella. A lifelong Kansas City resident, Jesse attended Center Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse & Constance Swearingen Jr. Jesse is also survived by his stepmother, Ruth Swearingen, Peoria, AZ; his sisters, Jennifer O'Rourke (Richard) of Bowling Green, KY, & Diana Morrison of Belton, and his five nieces and nephews. Mr. Swearingen was a conductor for BNSF Railway and proud of his third generation railroad heritage. He was a member of Smart TD Local 5 and a past officer of IBEW Local 866. Jesse served his country in the USMC and was a member of the Marine Corps League and Disabled American Veterans Association. A compassionate man, Jesse was devoted to his family. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed nothing more than sitting in a boat on his lake fishing with his grandson. He had a quick wit and curious mind.
Cremation with burial at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Private services are yet to be determined. The family suggests memorial gifts to KC Pet Project, 4400 Raytown Road, KC, MO 64129.
