Helen Morgan "Mimi" Shipman

Helen Shipman, 83, of Overland Park, KS passed away September 16, 2024 surrounded by her family. Helen was born October 18, 1940, the daughter of H.M. Suggs and Emma Suggs (Morgan) in Bunkie, LA and was raised in Oklahoma City, OK. She attended North West Classen and graduated in 1958. Thereafter, she enrolled at Oklahoma Baptist University, where she met David Norvel Shipman, he said it was love at first sight and they married July 1, 1960. Together they had two children, Kimberly and Jeff. Helen was a stay at home mom and loving wife. David and Helen had many adventures throughout the years, family trips to dude ranches, couples golf trips to the desert, and lots of horse shows. They had season tickets to the Chiefs games, Helen loved her football and KU basketball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Shipman, granddaughter, Emily Marie Shipman, and brother, John Meyrick Suggs. She is survived by her two children; son Jeffrey David Shipman; daughter Kimberly Kaye Humble and husband David Humble; sister Linda Smith and husband Mike Smith; two grandchildren, Morgan Leigh and Taylor Anne.
