Dorothy Jeanne Mauer

Dorothy Jeanne Mauer, age 92 peacefully passed away July 16, 2024 at Hospice House of Kansas City. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday July 25, 2024 at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery. 

Jeanne was born January 1,1932 the daughter to Ralph and Edwina O'Neil in Kansas City, Missouri. She had many happy days growing up in Kansas City and attending Paseo High School.

Jeanne spent her working years as an office manager and bookkeeper for Dr. Pat Barelli in Kansas City, Missouri from where she retired.

She married William Mauer, Sr. July 27, 1957. They were married 65 years and from that union they were blessed with a son.

Jeanne thoroughly enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and fishing in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by her husband (William), her parents, a brother(Robert), and a sister(Patricia).

Jeanne is survived by her only son William Mauer, Jr. and his wife Renee and two grandchildren(Will and Cole).

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Kansas City Hospice House and Advent Hospital Cardiac Care Unit for providing compassionate care in her final days.

A Graveside Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, July 25, at 2:30pm at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery, 395 Biddle Blvd., Fort Leavenworth, KS 66027.
