Charles 'Charlie' Meade

Charles Leroy Meade, 72, passed away Wednesday February 5th, 2020 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City Missouri. Charlie was born February 26, 1947 in Mcleansboro, Illinois to Charles Prince Meade, and Lucille M. (Smith) Meade. Charlie moved to Indiana at a young age with his family. He graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1965. He served his country in the Army from 1970-1972, which included a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam. He retired from Western Electric after transferring to Oklahoma, City, OK where he met and married (Alicia Green) Meade on March 7th, 1996, who survives.
He is also survived by his stepson John Green Jr LCDR United States Navy, wife Margaret and three granddaughters, Elsa, Isabella and Venetia, of Naples Italy. He is survived by a daughter, Emily Meade, and twin granddaughters Olivia June and Savanah Jo of New Castle, Indiana, siblings, Gary and wife Karen Meade of Fortville, Indiana. Phillip and wife Sandra Meade of Noblesville Indiana and Rebecca Meade and husband Steve Rehfuss of Greenfield, Indiana. Brother in laws Mik and wife Cynthia Fowler, Robert Funk, Jr, Mark and wife Pam Funk, Sister in law Neva (Funk) and husband Cleve Brown of Kansas City, Missouri and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Charlie was proceeded in death by his parents, Charles Prince Meade, and Lucille M. Smith Meade. He is also proceeded by paternal grandparents Charles Elmer and Sarah Anne (Prince) Meade and maternal grandparents Thomas Marion and Bertha Ellen (Lambert) Smith.
