Carl Schloegel

Carl Dean Schloegel, 76, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away May 17, 2023.

Carl was born on July 17th, 1946, the son of late Carl J. and Marie F. Schloegel. He was the older brother to Rita Belknap, who survives. He spent his entire life in Kansas City, Missouri where he started a family with former wife, Carol Schloegel, and 2 children who he adored.

After graduating from Raytown High School, Carl proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Combat Infantryman during the Vietnam War. He was a true patriot and brave soldier, receiving the Purple Heart for his service.

Carl had a passion for exploring and trying new things. Carl’s favorite place was the garage.  He enjoyed tinkering with cars, in particular his beloved Trans Am. You could count on him always polishing and detailing it. Carl loved woodworking. He and his son carved out many derby cars over the years. From holidays to the kids playing with toys or outside, Carl had a video camera in hand to capture the memories.

Carl is survived by his former wife, Carol Schloegel of Blue Springs, Missouri; son, Scott (Michelle) Schloegel of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Jessica (William) Bledsoe of Blue Springs, MO; and six grandchildren.

There will be a private service with Carl’s family to celebrate his life.
